Crafting mead and channeling my inner Viking. Lover of Norse myths and all things epic.
Explore the ancient elixir with me, and maybe we’ll sip a horn together. Skål!
Hi, my name is Jonas Kofoed, and I am a writer and journalist living in Denmark. My lifelong fascination with Norse mythology, Viking culture, and mead brewing has shaped both my personal and professional life.
Growing up in Denmark, I was surrounded by the rich history and traditions of the Norse people from a young age. I actually attended a school called Bifrost, a name inspired by the rainbow bridge from Norse mythology, which only fueled my enthusiasm for the legends, stories, and timeless values of my ancestors.
After finishing my formal education, I pursued a degree in journalism. I have spent many years working in communications, gaining experience in both storytelling and sharing meaningful information with a wider audience. For the past five years, I have worked as a communications manager, sharpening my skills in clear writing, content strategy, and public engagement.
These experiences have allowed me to connect with people from many backgrounds. And in some cases helping them to understand and appreciate both the fascinating heritage of the Vikings and of course mead too.
My curiosity and drive to learn are central to who I am. Whenever a topic relates to history, mythology, or brewing techniques, I dive in fully, determined to discover every fact, story, or connection. I believe that knowledge is meant to be shared, and as a journalist, I love passing on what I learn so others can enjoy it as much as I do.
Whether it’s uncovering the deeper meanings of Eddic poetry or experimenting with traditional mead recipes, I am always working to blend research with real-world experience.
In my free time, you’ll often find me writing articles, designing websites, or, most often, brewing my own mead. Mead brewing is more than a hobby for me—it’s a way to connect with the world of the Vikings and bring a taste of ancient Denmark into the present.
Between stirring the honey and monitoring the brew, I find peace in this hands-on tradition that has linked generations for centuries.
If you are interested in Norse history, Viking culture, or the art of mead brewing, I invite you to reach out. I am always happy to discuss ideas, share knowledge, or collaborate on projects related to these passions.
